Developed by Paul McRae. My initial career was an electrician, after university, I set up and run a UK software house, ultimately retiring and moving to Cyprus 25 years ago.

Nowadays, I volunteer my time to teach youths to sail, adults to cross Oceans and aviation ground school at RAF Akrotiri. However, most of my time is spent developing hardware and software associated with photovoltaic energy. As a qualified and experienced electrician, I can combine this skill with my knowledge of programming and designing high tech electronics to explore many new ideas associated with photovoltaic energy.

This led to me offering advice over the internet, that grew to the point where I kept answering the same questions. Consequently, I thought I would develop a website that not only addresses these questions, but expands on them and offers more in depth explanations.

More recently, I have become more involved in the design, construction and programming of inverter control systems, I know that there is a huge interest in this from the keen more technically minded DIYers, however, this can become fantastically complicated! I am hoping that using all my spare time, R&D experience, inverter design, communications and systems programming skills, I may be able to help the world.
